I read a lot of books to watch the subsequent YouTube bookclub liveshow discussions and I've noticed several times that someone will bring up a detail in a book and the booktuber will have no recollection of it happening. Much better than endless book vlogs that feature unboxing of random items. When she received that amazing expensive lamp for free it's like she didn't even care? She doesnt show an gratitude- her "thanks" to publishers who send her free books is so automated. Most of the literary booktubers I liked ended up dropping youtube because it takes longer to absorb a literary novel and develop an intelligent review, and for all that effort they got low views and insults from commenters calling them pretentious.
